– Marques Salmond

MarquesMarques Salmond is starting his first season with the Poway Titans as their Varsity Defensive Line coach. This is his 13th season as a football coach; with his prior year at West Hills High School in Santee. While at West Hills he assisted them with a 8-2 season. Before that he coached football in Florida, Missouri and the South Sacramento area in California. He has coached in the capacity as a Defensive Coordinator, Defensive line coach, Special teams coordinator, and has assisted in other capacities within the different football organizations he has worked with. In his 12 years of coaching he has had 14 all leagues defensive lineman with 2 receiving all city. During these years coaching football he has also coached various other sports for both boys and girls.

Coach Marques is originally from Sacramento, California; where he played 4 years of high school football. After high school he continued to play football, with his first 2 years at Juco Sierra Jr College; here receiving 1st team all league both years.  He then played 2 years at Missouri Western State University, receiving all league both years. After college he continued to play 5 years of arena/indoor Football. While at Missouri Western his coaching career began as a graduate assistant, while he procured his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a minor in Exercise Science. Later he finished his Masters of Science in Psychology.

Coach Marques has been with his wife Stefanie for 12 years. They live here in San Diego with their two children; Marques Jr (10) and Aubree (6).
