Strength training is important for all athletes, but for football players it is essential. Strength training in football ensures that players are prepared to withstand contact on the field while also building power, acceleration, speed, agility and endurance. More importantly, strength training is necessary for safety and reducing the risk of injury.
By building strength in muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones, an athlete’s body becomes more resilient and resistant to injury. Research has shown that those who do not incorporate strength training are 3x more likely to suffer a knee, ankle, shoulder, hip or head/neck injury.
As you know, the Titan football program regularly incorporates strength training into the practice schedule. However, current equipment is 15-20 years old. It is bent, broken, rusted and being used on cracked and damaged cement. The Titan Football Boosters are launching a campaign to raise $100,000 so that we can replace all weight lifting and strength training equipment as well as adding rubber mats to increase safety.
We can’t do it without YOU!!
